"Lessor"

Just letting the author know: "Lessor" is a noun that is synonymous with "landlord"; a lessor leases his property out to tenants, or lessees (therefore a lessor is one who leases). It's not an alternate spelling of "lesser".

Date of birth

According to [1], he was born on 1832-12-04. Need to corroborate this quotation. DFH 16:10, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

England. At Waltham in Lincolnshire, Ferrar Fenton is born. He will amass a considerable fortune as promoter of the De Beers Company for the development of the South African diamond mines, but will suffer heavy losses in 1893 through dishonest legal advisor. He will become a very outspoken critic against what he calls the "so-called Higher Criticism" which he will regard "as either wild delusion or deliberate swindle."

Date of death

Anglo Israelism

The external link added today by 209.239.60.43 is to a page posted on the so-called 'Christian Identity' website, which promotes Anglo Israelism. I'd be inclined to treat it as linkspam. Opening sentence

The opening sentence goes "[It] ... was one of the earliest translations of the Bible into modern English". According to our Modern English page Modern English "is the form of the English language spoken since the Great Vowel Shift in England, completed in roughly 1550. Despite some differences in vocabulary, texts from the early 17th century, such as the works of William Shakespeare and the King James Bible, are considered to be in Modern English." I did some general editing to correct some quality issues as mentioned in the cleanup tag.
