He played 284 Games! edit

He has a shirt from his former club with 284 on the back! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.193.75.201 (talk) 13:18, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

This has already been explained to you at your talk page, but the infobox includes league stats only, meaning the correct figure is 184. Mattythewhite (talk) 13:24, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 25 September 2019 edit

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: moved to alternate proposal by consensus. Andrewa (talk) 00:27, 18 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Fernandinho (footballer)Fernandinho – The footballer born in May 1984 is arguably the most famous person named Fernandinho and surprisingly not disambiguated by his birth year and/or month unlike every other entry in Fernandinho (disambiguation), plus “Fernandinho” redirects to the current Man City player. “Fernandinho (footballer)” could also refer to anyone in that disambiguation page. KingSkyLord (talk | contribs) 12:46, 25 September 2019 (UTC) --Relisting. IffyChat -- 12:59, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Withdrawing move request – Seeing as how moving the article to just “Fernandinho” seems to be a bit controversial because, while yes, he is the “Fernandinho” who is currently in the most spotlight at the moment, he isn't the most notable person named Fernandinho to ever exist. Seeing as how Marcelo and Willian are also disambiguated by birth, despite being arguably the most well-known people who go by just that name, I am withdrawing my move request and I instead want the article to be moved to Fernandinho (footballer, born May 1985). This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:00, 25 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • @KingSkyLord: Fernandinho (disambiguation) lists several other footballers, and other people. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:02, 25 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose - no evidence of PRIMARYTOPIC. Move Fernandinho (footballer) to Fernandinho (footballer, born May 1985) and Fernandinho (disambiguation) to Fernandinho, and turn Fernandinho (footballer, born 1985) into a redirect to the disambiguation page (which, again, should be located at Fernandinho). • As GiantSnowman Move Fernandinho (footballer) to Fernandinho (footballer, born May 1985) and restore undiscussed Fernandinho (disambiguation) to Fernandinho, In ictu oculi (talk) 09:11, 26 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Strong support - from ngrams, this is the overwhelming leader in page views, with almost 91% of views for all topics on the disambiguation page over the past 90 days. Per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, there are two things we may look for - being the most commonly sought topic (which this clearly is), and having greater long-term significance. The Manchester City and Brazil stalwart ticks both those boxes easily, compared to the others. This isn't even close.  — Amakuru (talk) 13:47, 3 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Support the original proposal. Fernando Luiz Roza is by far the most notable and seems likely to remain so. I'm a big fan of dabs and rarely back a contested PT but this case seems clear-cut. A quick look at the infoboxes should dispel any suspicion of RECENTism. Certes (talk) 13:27, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment The page had been bold move several time. In 2006, it definitely not the primary topic. In 2019, may be, but i would like to see evidence such as reliable source. Moreover, if the article is not the primary topic, then it should move to Fernandinho (footballer, born May 1985) and change Fernandinho (footballer) to a redirect to Fernandinho (disambiguation) =Fernandinho . • Comments: Pageviews Analysis make a good case, but what we can't tell from that is how many readers initially landing at Fernandinho (footballer) are really looking for one of the other footballers named "Fernandinho". Fernandinho (footballer, born May 1985) was only recently created; views of that would give a more solid indication of relative importance. Another issue is that another footballer born in the same year was the primary topic for Fernandinho (footballer, born 1985). Just recently on 14 September 2018 Ken Gallager moved page Fernandinho (footballer, born 1985) to Fernandinho (footballer, born November 1985) (distinguish 1985 footballers). Ngrams show the name "Fernandinho" only recently gaining in popularity. Looking at Google Books with a long-term view, I find an earlier use was "Fernandinho Simonsen Pavillion" (current search), a medical research facility named for a boy named Fernandinho Simonsen who died at a young age. But that case doesn't go by the mononym; it seems that only sports figures (primarily footballers) do that. "In the West, mononymity has been primarily a privilege of famous persons such as prominent writers, artists, entertainers, musicians and athletes." But, surely all of these Fernandinhos aren't famous, superstar athletes. Such widespread use of the mononym, to me, severely dilutes the "claim to fame" implied by the mononym. If these lesser Fernandinhos don't hesitate to use the mononym out of respect for the one superstar who "owns" the name, and concern about confusion with this superstar, then that signals to me that perhaps there is no one superstar who "owns" the name, i.e., there is no primary topic. The Portuguese wiki makes "Fernandinho" a disambiguation page, so there is no primary topic in their native language. Indeed, the Portuguese wiki disambiguates naturally, using full given names, rather than using the more awkward parentheticals (born month, year). The French disambiguate using a subtitle template (a sort of "Britannica solution"). German Wikipeida disambiguates by birth month & year: de:Fernandinho (Fußballspieler, Mai 1985), while he is the primary topic in Spanish and Italian. There is a consensus that the current partial disambiguation is not acceptable; I'm inclined to follow the lead of the Germans for now and move to Fernandinho (footballer, born May 1985), while remaining open to making this the primary topic at a later date, if subsequent analysis supports that. We probably should make some effort to ensure that all links to Fernandinho (footballer) are going to the correct targets. – wbm1058 (talk) 15:22, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Rename edit

He should be rename as Fernandinho, just plain. There is no other famous Fernandinho, the rest are not-known brazilian random players. Same case as Romario. Cracker-Kun (talk) 19:48, 17 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Champions league appearances edit

They do not add up with the official uefa website. It states he has played far more champions league matches than he actually has on his wiki. Just wanted to let u know. 86.30.196.13 (talk) 20:39, 12 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
