A spare Tomás

edit

In the list of kings there is a sequence of three:

  • Pilib 'na Tuagh' Mág Uidhir (died 1394)[1]
  • Tomás Mag Uidhir (died 1419)
  • Tomás Mór Mag Uidhir (died 1430)

but try as I might I can't work out the Tomás Mag Uidhir (died 1419) in the middle there. According to the Dictionary of Irish Biography, Tomás Mór reigned for 36 years, after his father, Pilib 'na Tuagh', died in 1394. As this is a list from the Annals of the Fours Masters, perhaps this other Tomás appears in that work? If so, it would belong here, but perhaps with a note.

But, given the dates, it does not seem on the face of it, that there could have been this additional Tomás as a ruler in the succession, in reality. Unless there is a source that I can find, or some other interested editor can, maybe it should be removed from the list. Any ideas appreciated (if there's anyone else frequenting these quiet and dusty corners of WP!). 49.177.30.125 (talk) 11:25, 26 July 2021 (UTC) Correction 49.177.30.125 (talk) 13:34, 26 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
