"the whole incident foreshadowed other warnings of apocalyptic character, which Kowalski would now and again insert into the commentary on his version of the Old Testament."[1]

Notes edit

  1. ^ Kozłowska used the Polish verbal noun zrozumienie (an understanding or a comprehension) to describe her experience.[8][9] Each zrozumienie was not a physical apparition according to Kowalski but was a visio intellectualis (Latin for intellectual vision).[10] Kowalski also used the term when he referred to his experiences. Like neo-Platonic philosophers, Augustine of Hippo categorized vision, as a metaphor of cognition, into three types: visio corporalis, through the natural physical senses; visio intellectualis, through supernatural transpersonal intellect; and visio spiritualis, through natural mental imagination.[11] religious ecstasy[12]
