Fair use rationale for Image:PFP Seal.jpg edit

Image:PFP Seal.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

It Doesn't Exist edit

Almost the entirety of the entry is written as though the PF still exists, with only the infobox clearly indicating it was dissolved, and the event described very briefly and unclearly in the article itself. In need of an overhaul, can someone please fix this? 2600:1700:9BD1:3440:7080:63D1:7686:F3DF (talk) 03:08, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Policia Federal name change edit

  • The use of the name Policia Federal Preventiva is now obsolete because they have changed their name to Policia Federal. In a news conference after the Zacatecas prison break in May spokesman Ricardo Nájera for the Mexican Atorney General stated that the name and acronym PFP (Policia Federal Preventiva) has not been used for a year and a half [1]. A few things to note edit

As was added already, the name of the PFP was changed to the Federal Police a while back. However, there are two pictures currently on the article (the bottom two) that show officers of what used to be the PFP. So maybe the captions can be changed to reflect this.

There is also the section of "proposed disbandment." The force was never really disbanded, only re-organized and re-named. So there should probably be a title change for that.

And finally, the Ford Crown Victoria is no longer in service. When the PF changed color schemes not too long ago, they only re-painted vehicles that were from the model year 2003 or newer. They got rid of the older cars, which included the Fords and I'm sure also the Impalas as I have not seen any of them in the new scheme. This comes from this article, which speaks of the new vehicle adquisitions and the name change for the agency:

Policia Federal edit

As has already been pointed out, but not yet corrected, the name Policia Federal has been in use much longer than the article suggests. I have a picture that I took at the Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México (Mexico City International Airport) on April 24th, 2008, showing a Patrol car of the Policia Federal... Would be glad to share the picture if any Admin wold like me to submit it. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Milanf07 (talkcontribs) 19:45, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

BAD BOYS FAME edit

would have to put this cop is listed as one of the most corrupt in the world, and statistically the Mexican population does not trust her, sad but true.--200.66.106.59 (talk) 03:55, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I agree. There's not a criticism section on the article, and regarding both their "results" and their reputation among Mexican population, one should be mandatory. The article lacks a section about their history and activities since their creation, too. - Holothurion (talk) 23:05, 22 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • What exactly would the criticism section have? ComputerJA (talk) 03:00, 23 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

inaccurate statement on mexican armed forces edit

"With limited options available, Calderón turned to the Mexican Armed Forces, which, because of its limited involvement in acting against the cartels, remained relatively immune to corruption and organized crime infiltration." Seeing as how Calderon's administration itself has indicted ranking generals for ties to cartels, this statement is transparently false. 68.193.162.13 (talk) 08:30, 13 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Notice that the source does not say that the whole military was immune from corruption. It simply states that FCH turned to the military because the police force was heavily corrupted (or at least that was the perception). Remember that the Armed Forces had a generally isolated duty after the massacre of Tlatelolco. I hope this clears it up for you; if not, let me know. Best, ComputerJA (talk)
