On whether to include an abbreviation edit

I think it's somewhat inappropriate to include the acronym "FART" in the first sentence. First of all, we know that the teams don't refer to themselves with this acronym. Secondly, Wikipedia articles are supposed to be written in a formal tone, and I think including that word makes the article less formal. In an article about farting, it would be OK to make an exception and include that word, but this article is not about farting. I'm going to remove that word from the first sentence. But if someone else has a good reason why it should be included, I encourage further discussion about this issue, here on the talk page. --Navigatr85 15:54, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Can't help but wonder why they didn't go with 'Squad' or 'Department' instead of 'Team'...80.56.35.62 (talk) 17:25, 27 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Haha, yeah, that's a good question... Navigatr85 22:24, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Once again, I'm removing the acronym "F.A.R.T." from the article. Also, I noticed that in older versions of this article, other contributors had replaced "F.A.R.T." with "FAR team". But after a quick search, I couldn't find any sources that say these teams refer to themselves as "FAR teams". So I won't put that in for now. But if someone finds a source, feel free to put it back in. Navigatr85 02:26, 26 April 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Navigatr85 (talkcontribs)

Again, I'm removing the acronym FART from the article. Navigatr85 06:14, 14 November 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Navigatr85 (talkcontribs)
