Faciotomy for snake bite edit
The cited article, http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001224.htm claims that debridement of necrosis may not be indicated for bites by a certain family of snake, a Bushmaster. The article does not dispute the need for fasciotomy due to compartment syndrome after snakebite. --Systemloc (talk) 20:31, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

- Yes. This claim is baseless. Standing upright for extended periods of time in the setting of venous insufficiency causes lymphedema, which is separate and unrelated to compartment syndrome. --Systemloc (talk) 20:24, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
