I believe the following line:

"This reaction is a head-to-head terpene synthesis, because the two FPP molecules are both joined at the C1 position and form a 1'-1 linkage."

should be changed to:

"This reaction is a tail-to-tail terpene synthesis, because the two FPP molecules are both joined at the C4 position and form a 4-4' linkage."

The numbering system Poulter used in the cited reference is opposite of the standard in the field. The head is referred to as the gem-dimethyl in every other reference I have come across.
