Could the word 'Facies' use a disambiguation page? Seems like the medics use it too but in a different sense - I don't know how to set up a disambiguation page but would be grateful if someone could Infilms 00:09, 11 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Pronounciation: fay-sees? fak-ees? fash-ees? 75.101.23.13 (talk) 23:44, 23 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

When I studied Geology ([[University of Southampton)), the lecturers all pronounced it "FASS-ees". I don't know if that's a universal pronounciation though. Wardog (talk) 10:58, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Is the word facies singular or plural? It should be singular, but is used for both cases in the first 2 sentences of the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.53.68.38 (talk) 21:58, 7 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

The pronunciation of the word which I had offered up has been supplaced by another - I think it right to offer up both since there are variations in its pronunciation. Anyone else care to comment? cheers Geopersona (talk) 05:55, 9 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
I've added that back as an alternative. Mikenorton (talk) 08:13, 9 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Removal of when and by-whom tag edit

@Jandalhandler: In this edit you added "when?" and a "by whom?" tags. I took care of the when tag by adding the date 1838. I removed the "by whom" tag, as I'm not sure what you want. To my understanding, the facies concept is so significant to geology, it would not be possible to list every author and geologist who "extended" its use. --David Tornheim (talk) 06:50, 14 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
