Who knows?

Who knows the Cambodian name of Funcincep? Electionworld 11:00, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Well Rannaridh probably still remembers :)

Actually it's Kanakpak Funcinpec which just translates to Funcinpec party. Paxse 17:33, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

www.funcinpec.org does not work. (Checked on 09 March 08) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.185.100.250 (talk) 21:32, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

looks like FUNCINPEC let their domain name expire :) Paxse (talk) 17:59, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Disorienting Acronyms

The use of all these acronyms is confusing, for the right wing rebel groups can we designate the term royalist and nationalist before the acronym to designate the faction the body is part of. --J intela (talk) 08:11, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

FUNCINPEC not Funcinpec

FUNCINPEC are acronyms and they should be capitalized. KnightxxArrow (talk) 14:16, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

Help with stub: Kingdom of Cambodia (1975-76)

Hello, I noticed there was a gap in the former states of Cambodia so I created Kingdom of Cambodia (1975-76); any help in expanding this stub would be much appreciated. Cheers, walk victor falk talk 04:47, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Page rename (2016)

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved. No opposition to the capitalisation. Number 57 21:34, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

Funcinpec PartyFUNCINPEC – I propose that the page be renamed as "FUNCINPEC", in its italics form. I have done considerable research on this area, and noted that the majority of sources use "FUNCINPEC" in its capitalised form. I quote a few example sources:

  • Benny Widyono's Dancing in Shadows: [1]
  • Ledgerwood's book: [2]

I acknowledge that once in a while, some sources use "Funcinpec Party", particularly news outlets like the Phnom Penh Post and Khmer Times.

I must emphasise though, that NGOs, such as Comfrel use "FUNCINPEC" (Capitalised) [3], and more significantly, Cambodian government sources use the name "FUNCINPEC" in capitalised form. Two examples: [4] (from Cooperation Committee for Cambodia) and [5] (from Cambodian Development Council). Also, the official government news agency uses "FUNCINPEC", example at [6]

I would highly recommend that this article use "FUNCINPEC" as its main title, with "Funcinpec party" as a redirect in light of the usage patterns as per described. Mr Tan (talk) 13:04, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

  • Support removal of "Party". Agnostic on the caps. —  AjaxSmack  01:56, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

This article's waited too long for a review, so I'll give it a shot. Wizardman 14:23, 2 October 2016 (UTC)

All I found were some minor grammatical and stylistic errors, which I intended to list, but I saw that the last edit by the article writer was back in May. Rather than let it sit here indefinitely or have to fail it for minor things, I just made the appropriate fixes myself. As a result, this article passes GA status.
