Coaches Section edit

There's a table on the Bayern Munich article that would be good for the coaches section. Kingjeff 18:37, 27 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fußballklub Austria edit

Is "Fußballklub Austria" the official name of the club? "Wien" is not included in the official name? Everton 12:09, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

....and for that matter, why do they have the English "Austria" in their name as opposed to the German "Österreich"....? ChrisTheDude 09:59, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

The club's name is Fußballklub Austria, or usually shortened to FK Austria. I don't know why it is written in English and not German, but it is definitely that way. Of course the club is sponsored and is, or was called FK Austria MAGNA but that's irrelevant really. Anyway, I think the name of the page should merely be FK Austria. I disagree. The club's name, according to their official English website, is FK Austria Vienna. See here for confirmation. – PeeJay 21:25, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

The word Austria in the club's name isn't English, but the Latin word for Österreich. Compare Domus Austriae for the Habsburg house, the dynasty ruling Austria for many centuries. 84.114.185.30 (talk) 17:05, 21 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Austria Wien vs. Austria Vienna edit

What is the official english name of the club? UEFA has it as Austria Wien and FIFA has it as both. Kingjeff (talk) 16:52, 19 May 2010 (UTC) In English I have never heard them referred to as Austria Wien. If you were to speak to an English football fan they will never have heard of Austria Wien. Wien is of course the German name for the city and they are always called that in German, but I believe as this is the English Wiki they should be called by their English name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.150.151.0 (talk) 19:17, 3 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
