"Ski jump controversy" edit

There is a section called "Ski jump controversy". What is so controversial about it? Geschichte (talk) 13:57, 1 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

It was in regards to location of the Holmenkollen and the creation of Midstuen. Chris (talk) 19:14, 2 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
I thought it was the tripling of the expenditure from planning to completion, costing a city councilor their job. Arsenikk (talk) 19:32, 2 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

At least, nothing in the current text justifies having the headline "controversy". Geschichte (talk) 20:31, 2 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

If anything, the controversy was the financing of it and how certain politicians acted in ways that must violate conventions. It was perhaps a little controversial to tear down Holmenkollen, but I can't remember any vast opposition to it. 109.189.188.240 (talk) 12:29, 1 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Non-sprint qualification edit

Men's 15 km classical interval start has a 10 km qualifying race and women's 10 km classical interval start has a 5 km qualifying race.
But on what grounds are the ones selected who must go through the qualification races? Those who are not on top50 on World Cup standings? This needs some clarification. 82.141.72.97 (talk) 03:15, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Holmenkollen Ski Festival edit

Can we say these games are the 2011 edition of Holmenkollen Ski Festival? --August90 (talk) 21:39, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

So they seem. The 2010 edition was considered a "trial championship" before this FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. The Festival is one the main event of the World Cup regarding the nordic disciplines. Monia- 0:07, 15 February 2011 {UTC}
2010 was a test event for the newly renovated venues, FYI. This was why there was no Holmenkollen ski festival in 2009 due to the renovations. Chris (talk) 00:07, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
The '09 edition was held in Trondheim for cross-sountry skiing and biathlon, and in Vikersund for ski jumping and nordic combined. Anyway, if there's somebody here who can contribute in Norwegian, maybe he/she could ask about '11 edition in Norwegian Wikipedia. I assume Norwegians know more about this. -- August90 (talk) 09:00, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

# edit

There is no mention what is the running number of these championships, it isn't even in FIS Nordic World Ski Championships article. Only It was the fifth time these championships had been hosted in Holmenkollen and that it was selected at 45th FIS Congress. I guess I must count it myself from WSC main article... 85.217.36.71 (talk) 14:30, 30 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Seems that they were the 38th championships. Don't know where it could be added or should it at all? 85.217.36.71 (talk) 00:07, 1 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
