Katherine?

edit

I've never seen any official source refer to her, in English, as Katherine - only "Kitty". Sources include a Negima guidebook, the Negipa fanbooks, and the manga itself. Shiroi Hane 16:04, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

As I see it, "Kitty" is a pet name version of "Cat" or "Katherine", thus the usage of that name as opposed to "Kitty" on this page. -StrangerAtaru 00:40, 3 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
All official sources (most notably the manga itself) give her name as Evangeline Athanasia Kitty McDowell. I've never seen any official source for "Katherine", although it was used on the page (to be exact the section that was split to become this page) as a translation of the Latin version of her name (Ecaterina) until her real English name (or at least the katakana thereof) became known. To be precise, I first saw her full name in katakana in the book "Mahou Sensei Negima! no Himitsu!?" on page 55. If was then given in English in Volume 3 of the Negipa! Official Fanbook on page 5. If any more confirmation was then needed, it was stated (again in katakana) in a panel on page 59 of Volume 18 of the manga itself (I make no apologies for the quality of the pictues since I simply couldn't be bothered to get my scanner out for this). OK, we're back to Katherine again... I've never heard of the book in question, but it is on Amazon. It might be worth pointing out that this is an unauthorised English language fanbook (it even says so on the cover) and the Evangelion book I have from the same series I stopped reading as the errors were annoying me. In addition, is there any source for the katakana? Shiroi Hane (talk) 09:17, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Let's help!

Sesshomaru (talk · contribs) has labelled the article with the in-verse and unreference tag. Any suggesstion on we can help improving this article? - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 00:44, 7 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Character poll rankings. Occasionally, the manga included those. Does anyone have access to any of these? In my case, I have the Del Ray manga. Some of those polling results are printed as extras. KyuuA4 08:03, 16 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Category additions

edit

I'm wondering about the possibility of adding her to "Fictional Mass Murderers", though she's never done it "on-screen", she's alluded to it many times herself (which is essentially the words of the author)

Also, (though this could be said for nearly anyone else from the series) she qualifies for various super-power categories such as "Anime and manga characters with superhuman strength", "Anime and manga characters who can move at superhuman speeds", "Fictional immortals"(however ambiguous a term it may be), "Fictional shapeshifters" and "Fictional characters who can teleport". Altogether though, some of these would too far indulge the page - most of them are simply suggestions. 64.180.207.143 01:10, 13 October 2007 (UTC) WickedKnightAlbel 01:11, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

You mean, you're willing to associate her with Freddy Krueger and the like? KyuuA4 07:59, 16 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Mass Murderer" by definition means anyone who's killed at least six or more in a single incident.

Now what of the other suggestions? WickedKnightAlbel (talk) 09:31, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Quick Note

edit

I want to highlight something: "Evangeline is the only Caucasian girl in the class. Evangeline's birthday remains unknown. Although her body stopped aging at age 10, she is over 500 years old and thus has the habit of referring to herself as old." In volume three of the manga, when Negi looks into her dreams, he sees that Eva-chan is actually about twenty or thirty, but she ends up falling into a pit of garlic and leeks placed by The Thousand Master, which ended turned back time, making her ten. Can someone tell me if it's different in the anime? Cheers. - user:SuperDMChan 16:36, 21 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't know how much of the manga you've actually read, but it is made more than clear that the older version of Evangeline is an illusion she likes to use. Shiroi Hane (talk) 03:29, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
