Ecology vs. Biology edit

Is this an ecology topic or a biology topic? I see the stub has been changed from biology to ecology. I ask, because being euryhaline is a physiological property of certain organisms, rather than a property of the environment.

  • To my understanding ecology is a discipline of biology which integrates living things with the non-living environment. Thus being euryhaline is a physiological reaction to the environment. According to Wikipedia's article on Ecology: "Ecology is the scientific study of the distribution and abundance of living organisms and how the distribution and abundance are affected by interactions between the organisms and their environment." Hope this clarifies the issue. Peace, Earthdirt 18:14, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
