They shall not be merged. They are independent roads according to the authority deciding this. See the official document. [1]. There is a common history, E4 was planned to be called E55 at the system change, but it was decided by UNECE to call the Swedish and Finnish part of E55, E4. BIL 14:19, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
