European Business register is a fraud. They deceive companies by eliciting their consent in what at first glance appears to be a free of charge service, but in small letters includes a charge or around 1.000 euros. Then they are blackmailing in order to get money from their victim. Wikipedia should turn the article down. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.119.2.193 (talk) 12:02, 9 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

real organization vs. scam edit

It looks like:

  • "The European Business Registry Association (EBRA)" is a real organization.
  • they operate the "European Business Register Network (EBR)"
  • EBRA doesn't maintain any company databases, they merely run the EBR, which provides a gateway to other national company directories
  • "EU Business Register" is a scam organization
  • EBRA has a warning on their website about this scam

notability? edit

There doesn't seem to be much information about these organizations online, other than their own websites. I suspect that the real notability is about the scam -- people might receive the scam email and be searching for information about whether it's legit or not. I was able to find these articles specifically about the scam:

...should this article be re-written to emphasize the scam, and take out some of the extraneous information about the registry, like the list of partners? Dracunculus (talk) 15:22, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
