Hungarian name edit

The article originally said his Hungarian name was "Jenö Rozvanyi". However, according to "Romániai magyar irodalmi lexikon I-IV. kötet (A-R)":

Rozvány Jenő (Nagyszalonta, 1873. dec. 28. – 1938. máj. 20. Moszkva) – közíró, szerkesztő. Elődei a 18. században hagyták el Macedóniát és telepedtek le Nagyszalontán. Ügyvéd Nagyszalontán és Nagyváradon. Egyetemi évei alatt megismerkedett a marxizmussal, kapcsolatba került a munkásmozgalommal, s teljes életét annak szolgálatába állította. 1900-tól tagja a Magyarországi Szociáldemokrata Pártnak; 1907 decemberétől szerkesztője a nagyváradi Munkás Újságnak, de közöl a Jövőben, a Világosságban és a kolozsvári Szocializmusban is. 1907-ben részt vesz a II. Perhaps it should be corrected. Khoikhoi 21:02, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

There is a book dedicated to Eugen Rozvan, printed in communist Romania at the Political Printing House, where is claimed that Rozvan was ethnic Romanian, not Hungarian. Is claimed that Rozvan family was of aromanian origin, the correct name of the family is Rozvan but was Hungarised by Hungarian authorities (Rozvany). There are a lot of details, is told that Rozvan was baptised in the Romanian orthodox church in Mădăraş, Bihor, that after the union of Transylvania with Romania the National Romanian Party offered to Rozvan a high position in Romanian administration but he proudly refused, unlike one of his brothers who became later prefect (main representant of government in a county) in Hunedoara county, being involved in the reprisal of communist-led strikes during 1929. Rozvan spoke Hungarian, as he was born in a town with a Hungarian enviroment (in that time no Romanian orthodox church existed in Salonta), however he was not of Hungarian origin.--MariusM 22:31, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I did bump into a vague reflection of that theory when I was researching this article. However, the majority of (more recent and more impartial) sources seem to consider him Hungarian, and this was probably backed by his own statements. Dahn 22:37, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
No, wait: you're probably right. I notice that only one source says he was Hungarian, while Tismăneanu also lists him as Romanian. Dahn 22:44, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The book dedicated to Rozvan edit

I told above about this book, now I can present details. It was published in 1971 at the "Political" printing house by the Institute of Historical and Social Political Studies of the Central Comitee of the Romanian Communist Party. Authors are Iuliu Szikszay, Marin Popa and Ion Bulci. First two claim they personally knew Rozvan and were kind of friends with him. The title of the book is "Eugen Rozvan".

Regarding Rozvan family, is told: First who established himself in Salonta was Demetru Rozvan, in 1690, an aromanian comerciant. All his children were baptised in the Romanian Orthodox Church from Mădăraş, Bihor. One of his sons, Iosif, was married with Persida Cristian (seemingly also aromanian) and had 3 kids: Andrei, Elisabeta and Gheorghe. Gheorghe Rozvan, lawyer and historian, participant in the Hungarian Revolution of 1848, is the father of Eugen. The mother was Maria Ilovici, from a Romanian intelectual family from Banat. The father of Maria Ilovici was between the founders of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Budapest.

As an interesting point, the Hungarian poet Janos Arany lived a while in the house of Rozvan family and was a good friend of this family. I hope this is clarifying all the doubts.--MariusM 15:59, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
