I have been unable to find any paper supporting the moving of this species into the Eudonia genus. Landcare Research New Zealand Ltd at present refers to this species as Scoparia (s.l.) asaleuta. Notes on the most recent research I can find relating to this species are notes made when the Landcare Research released these photos in its image gallery on New Zealand larger moths. This can be seen here. It may be that this species is within the Eudonia genus but unless a citation supporting this statement can be found or given, I propose to move this page back to "Scoparia asaleuta". I would be extremely grateful if other editors could assist me in finding any citation for the name Eudonia asaleuta. The only reference I can find appears to be GBIF which itself results from sourcing its information from Wikipedia.Ambrosia10 (talk) 18:06, 29 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
