Mallee - mallet - gimlet? edit

This species is described as a "tree or mallee" in the original paper. However, Euclid[1] considers it a hybrid between E. terebra and E. ravida, both of which are described as mallets (because they do not produce a lignotuber) and as gimlets because of the characteristics of the trunk. ("At the base of Jimberlana Hill near Norseman there is a population of gimlets with morphology somewhat intermediate between E. terebra and E. ravida. The name Eucalyptus jimberlanica was applied to these in 1991, but it is not recognised in EUCLID as we are not convinced it is a distinct species but possibly a hybrid.") I propose to describe the species as a "tree or mallet". Gderrin (talk) 01:05, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Fine with me. Hughesdarren (talk) 08:39, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
