Forking of this article edit

OK... per the discussion at Talk:Essence–Energies distinction (Eastern Orthodox theology), I have created a content fork so that we now have the article Essence–Energies distinction (Eastern Orthodox theology) which is intended to focus on the Eastern Orthodox view of the distinction and this article which is intended to cover the views of the distinction from other perspectives including non-religious philosophical sources (e.g. the Greek philosophers).

I have to admit that, as I was creating the content fork, I was struck by the fact that there is not currently enough difference between the two articles to warrant making this split. However, I went ahead with the split on the assumption that there would eventually be enough material to justify having done this. Fortunately, very little in Wikipedia is irreversible so, if it turns out this is a bad idea, we can always undo it. If it starts looking like it's not working, just say so and we can discuss going back to having a single article again.

Please see WP:CFORK. Content forks are to be avoided even by accident, and making them on purpose under these conditions is definitely wrong. I know there is a lot of stress about subjects to do with Orthodox theology, and difficulties to get consensus, but this level of failure is not really acceptable to the Wikipedia principles and really they should be re-merged.--Andrew Lancaster (talk) 15:39, 30 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

GOCEreviewed edit

I have marked this as {{GOCEreviewed}} and removed the copy edit tag from the page because of the merge proposal and the extensive debate on that article's talk page. It's only worth copy editing when the content is reasonably stable. I have done the same at the other article. This is obviously a significant topic, so once these issues have been resolved, please do tag for copy edit once more if it's still wanted. --Stfg (talk) 11:07, 23 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
