I'm giving this article (which is currently a draft) a review to get it up to wikipedia standard. So I'll put some of the original content here in case it can later be readded:

• Context of Basque Country
• Errekaleor Bizirik is part of a new chapter in Basque history. The Basques are a cultural and linguistic group that have been living in the Northern part of the Iberian Peninsula since before the Indo-European migration into Europe in 1000 B.C. and possibly for as long as 40,000 years, and have remained cultural and linguistically distinct throughout modern European history. After the Spanish Civil war the area was the focus of state repression that outlawed the Basque language and civil organizations that advocated Basque culture.
• Today the Basque community is in a situation of moderate peace, since the disarmament of the armed independence group ETA in 2011. With the Spanish and French states have resisted the peace process and refused to take place in the disarmament of the group, Basque political and advocacy groups have been able to operate in relative acceptance and the Basque culture and language are experiencing a revival.

• The members of the project describe their activities as being part of a broader discourse on social interaction and collective identity:

Here in Errekaleor Bizirik we reject the modern form of life that requires the alienation and separation of individuals in order to create false needs that require the all-to-real exploitative working conditions. In every other neighbourhood individuals are made accustomed to being a passive subject of society. In Errekaleor Bizirik we are made a protagonist and active agent in the narrative of our own lives, from the food we grow to the art we create to the homes we build for ourselves and to the community that we create every day. We do not ask for rights that the government wants to provide for us, rather we actively create our own culture, community, and basic needs. We see our project as connected to all liberatory struggles worldwide, while clearly set in the context of a longstanding regional struggle for autonomy and cultural recognition. For this reason we are also active outside of our neighbourhood, working in militant circles throughout the city, region, and in many distant countries.

Unsourced quotes

Moving out some unsourced quotes from the electricity section, feel free to re-add with a reference:

• While the city council denied their involvement, the mayor Gorka Urtaran stated "This intervention was the correct thing to do, and absolutely necessary because it was more than justified."
• The mayor insisted that he had always wanted to talk, negotiate and offer other alternatives to relocate this group to other parts of the city, offers which have been rejected by Errekaleor Bizirik, who according to him, "have in their DNA not to negotiate because it is an anti-system collective who does not want to talk to public administrations". Gorka Urtaran said "The objective of the City Council has always been very clear: to bulldoze Errekaleor to create organic farms which create continuity in the Green Ring of Gasteiz. We have never contemplated that the neighbourhood could remain as it is, this is about recovering what was once a natural and green area, and never to financially speculate in the area."
