I notice that the German article is more substantive and perhaps could be translated. Some other suggestions for improvement as the article is expanded:
Appropriate infobox should be added
Photograph or portrait should be added from a source with a free license
Article needs expanding and should emphasise reasons for notability of subject
Article should be divided into appropriate subheadings
Information on works should be expanded, including more details on style and critical reception
A complete works list would be interesting
References should be expanded and preferably converted to the inline format
External links to useful online resources should be added if available
