Discrepancy edit

His parents were purged in the 1930s. ... At the close of WWII ... his mother received an official notification that her son had died, Neizvestny managed to survive.

Yes, i noticed the same thing, an adopted mother perhaps? Maybe someone else knows. --Cptbuck 21:03, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Surely somebody can be purged without being killed? Still, the wording needs to be clarified. What, exactly, happened to his parents? Were they expelled from the Party ("purged" would suggest membership)? Did they go through the Gulag? Feketekave (talk) 20:07, 17 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Parents edit

Where his parents purged or did his mother receive his medal in the 1940s? Simply (talk) 22:01, 19 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

American? edit

We appear to have no source for our description of Neizvestny as Russian-American. He lived in the US, but I have found no indication that he took US citizenship. I have found no reliable sources that describe him as American. I will change the description to Russian and remove the related categories. Verbcatcher (talk) 21:17, 10 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
