Speedy Deletion Candidate?

edit

Sorry, I saved the article before finishing it. Pleae see paragraph 3 of the "Career" section to see his significant contribution. I have added a reference from one magazine to his career but acan add more if needed. Bottom line is that the subject is considered the grandfather of Destin commercial real estate.

Your thoughts? Majoreditor 03:55, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

He doesn't sound too notable, despite Destin's status as a tourist resort. Perhaps if you beef the page up a little like your work on Manuel Maloof's page. Static Universe 04:11, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

This one could go either way, I admit. Why don't you or an admin make a call on it. No hard feelings if you decide it should be deleted. If that's the decision, then please leave a link on my talk page showing criteria for biographies. Thanks. Majoreditor 04:28, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

History of Coastal Development

edit

One of the reasons I find him interesting is in the way he influenced coastal development on the Panhandle. Around 1970 the Panhandle was only sparsely developed between Pensacola and Panama City. Why did Destin become the major resort location? In many ways it's competitively disadvantaged, not least by its relative inaccesibility due to the bay. It was arguably due to Shahid's construction of a Miami Beach-style highrise that started major resort development. Majoreditor 02:02, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
