editDear Sir, I am attaching this page as a biographical page on a real figure who was involved in a true historical event. I believe it is important that some background be given on him so that people who read up on the event can understand the person. I have only put information which is in the public domain our of respect for his privacy.

After referring to your WP: Bio requirements this article dispite not having a lot of personal information does fit the for the notable event. and I quote "Diplomats who have participated in a significant way in events of particular diplomatic importance that have been written about in reliable secondary sources. Diplomats often participate in issues of significant diplomatic importance without receiving specific individual coverage. This does not necessarily mean that such participation doesn't confer notability.*
The Naval Attache to Israel despite being a Naval Officer is in a diplomatic position with diplomatic protection. In addition being involved in two separate incidents which would concern the President of the united states makes him a notable person. I had the honor of studying under Captain Castles. That his name did not appear in news reports at the time because much of what he did was classified, and has consequently not been picked up by historians, he certainly was notable for the many people whose lives he touched. This record is a minor bit of data in the tremendous database that is Wikipedia. I fail to see why, other than the draconian application of rules by someone who didn't even have the courage to sign their comment 11 years ago, that Captain Castles should not be considered notable enough to have a Wikipedia page. If there are people who come by and maintain the page (like me), I think that should be notoriety enough. Jrhoadley (talk) 22:15, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
Liberty report
editAn obituary on the subject claims he was the Naval investigator into the US Liberty Incident. I've reviewed the Naval investigation and it doesn't include him. The Naval AG was the head of the investigation. I think the obituary is mistaken because Castle was the Naval Attache at the time of the attack. But he didn't lead a formal investigation, but rather the initial response.
I'm going to leave in that he was the Naval Attache at the time of the attack, but remove the dubious claim of him leading "the Naval investigation."ItsRainingCatsAndDogsAndMen (talk) 05:58, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
