coronet or wilshire?
editI came here, & doubtless not the first, to clear up the issue of the various versions of what most people think is an epiphone coronet, & in particular to discover whether the single pickup, six-in-line headstock is in fact a coronet or something else. it's not a simple matter, keeping track of a company's design quirks as fashion (& indeed, ownership), & a bit more input here would help get the ball rolling. anyone got anything?

- Unfortunately, many WP musical instrument articles lack quality references and are more like unsupported commentaries. I copied this from a caption in Wheeler's American Guitars (1992):
Coronet, circa 1963, note symmetrical body. Within a year or two it had gone to an asymmetrical body (larger left-hand horn), metal pickup cover, and six-on-a-side tuners. The 1967 version had rubbed barrel knobs and a flat-handled vibrato. [p. 38]
- Gruhn's Vintage Guitars doesn't add much more. As a discontinued "entry level guitar" there probably isn't much more written about it.[1] A single WP article on Epiphone solid bodies or electrics would probably be sufficient to cover the various models.
