Stanhopea oculata

Stanhopea oculata is sometimes confused with E. cornutum due to a published description in 1894 of S. oculata as E. cornutum. Because the name Epidendrum cornutum had been used 53 years earlier by John_Lindley for an Epidendrum, the 1894 publication was a "nom. illeg.", or illegal name.

For this reason, I have removed the redirection of Epidendrum cornutum to Stanhopea oculata. Jay L09 (talk) 17:37, 13 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

After reviewing H. G. Reichenbach 1861, I have found that there was no diagnosis of the Epidendrum subgenus Spathium on the sectional level. I shall removing the reference to the section. Jay L09 (talk) 21:18, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
