Happy to review this article.

Review edit

Lead section / Infobox
  • I would consider expanding the lead section a bit to include more than his UN career, as it seems to be rather on the short side at present.
  •   Done
  • Link diplomat.
  •   Done
  • Ref 1 (Times Live) is not needed in the lead section, as the information it cites is uncontroversial – and it doesn’t verify the information.
  •   Done
  • Refs 2a (nelsonmandela.org) and 3a (NYT) are not needed either.
  •   Done
  •   Done
  • Who was Mahatma Gandhi?
  •   Done If this text needs to change, please do let me know. Thanks.

1 Early life
  • The link to freedom fighter doesn’t lead to where you expect it to. The text should be amended so that it does.
  •   Done
2 Career
  • The title of this section is not accurate, as the last paragraph in it describes his activities during his retirement.
  • Open to your suggestions, and inputs on a header here. Thanks.
 Y Sorted. Amitchell125 (talk) 07:49, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Link internship, colonialism, pan-Africanism.
  •   Done
  • Who were Paul Robeson, W. E. B. Du Bois and A. B. Xuma?
  •   Done
  • Unlink New York, Government of South Africa (MOS:OL).
  •   Done
  • Ref 9 (Gandhi and South Africa) doesn’t verify the information.
  • The book itself will be the reference for this statement.
  • It's not what he accomplished as Assistant Secretary-General of the UN. Could his achievements be included here?
  •   Done
  • I would amend he went on to write to 'he wrote'.
  •   Done

3 Awards and recognition
  • There needs to be just one link to Joliot-Curie World Peace Council Prize - World Peace Council prizes.
  •   Done. Not sure if this is what you were looking for. Happy to redo, please let me know. Thanks.
 Y Link tweaked by me. Amitchell125 (talk) 07:50, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • 'the nation's fourth highest civilian honor' - requires a citation.
  •   Done
N Why is it the 'fourth highest'? ("Bharat Ratna is the highest civilian award of the country." - https://padmaawards.gov.in/AboutAwards.aspx).

Amitchell125 (talk) 08:20, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Done. Added another link. Please see if this means the previous link can be removed. Thanks.
  • For his works to eliminate apartheid could be phrased better.
  •   Done

4 Personal life
  • Link Turkish literature.
  •   Done

5 Positions
  • Is this section needed? It seems to be a duplication of information provided elsewhere.
  • Ambivalent on retaining / removing it. I have seen articles have this view that gives a succinct timeline of roles / positions. If it is alright, would prefer we leave it. Please let me know if that is alright.
@Ktin: I'm OK with it staying, but all the dates either need to have brackets, or have them removed. The section is imo in the wrong place, and should be included using a === level title with the Career section. Amitchell125 (talk) 07:56, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Done. Great catch on that bracket inconsistency as well. My bad. Ktin (talk) 00:25, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

6 Books and 7 References
  • The link for Mahatma Gandhi, Letters to Americans: Compiled and Edited by E.S. Reddy should go, as it doesn’t provide further information.
  • Can I ask for some assistance here. I just used the book cite format / auto-cite function. Not sure how I can fix this.
 Y Sorted. Amitchell125 (talk) 08:06, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  •   Done
  • Ref 7 (FT) – subscription required template needed.
  •   Done
  • Ref 10 (Worldcat) doesn’t verify the text.
  • Changed to ref #7 now. Let me know if this needs additional clarifn.
N Worldcat names Reddy as the co-author of this book, but does not verify the text in the article ("[He] edited anthologies of Gandhi's influence on... ... America.") You need to find another reference. Amitchell125 (talk) 08:15, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Done Also added the FT.com link which specifically calls out anthologies and SA / America. Ktin (talk) 00:29, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Did not follow this one, link currently exists in the Guha reference. Current ref #11
Got it. Amitchell125 (talk) 08:24, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Ref 15 – same as another source listed?
  •   Done

8 External links
  • The link to the papers doesn’t seem to allow online access to them—am I correct? If so this link shouldn’t really be in this section (or amend it to saying “Information about…)
  • Reworded. Please see if this is better. Thanks.
My apologies for not being clearer, the website is only a record of his papers, and they cannot be downloaded. Your wording needs to reflect this, by saying something like ' Record details of the E.S. Reddy collection of papers held at Yale University'. Amitchell125 (talk) 08:04, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
  Done Thanks. Ktin (talk) 00:26, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
