Talk:Engrailed (gene)

Latest comment: 12 years ago by Hpclark

I believe this article has the conventions for gene and protein name usage in print reversed. The gene name should be italicized (engrailed) and the protein name in Roman type with the first letter capitalized (Engrailed). Also, capitalization of the gene name (or symbol, en) denotes the allele is dominant over the wild type allele in a heterozygote. The engrailed gene has 176 known alleles with various effects, but browsing these in the Flybase database report seems to indicate they are recessive to wild type. References: [1] [2]

As I am a newbie, I will leave any editing of the article to the author or other experienced editor. JRmensch (talk) 22:03, 13 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

.... I'm greatly interested with this gene. Will the editor kindly add more information about this gene? For instance, what are the differences between this protein with other HOX proteins? And which characteristics are shared by engrailed proteins among organisms? Hpclark (talk) 09:10, 20 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
