Dissolution of the Lesser Monasteries Act edit

Besides the act what else was being implemented to stop the corruption in the clergy? Thathistorystudent (talk) 15:11, 5 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

I would look at previous acts, such as the 1529 act to remove canonical courts as well as the First Act of Annates, which sought to restrict monies to Rome. AFineClaret (talk) 15:23, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

1529 clergy legal privilege edit

Under “1529 Clergy legal privilege removed” explain more about the trial process and how it differed from the previous separate canonical courts. Smh24 (talk) 17:11, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

I didn't edit this section.  ; > AFineClaret (talk) 15:58, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Impact edit

It may be a good idea to add a section determining the impact of the overall reformist parliament, if not the many acts passed; trying to determine the impact of individual acts may be a bit much and niche. But what kind of political course did it set England and the British Isles down by separating itself from the Pope and Catholicism? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrHistoryBunny (talkcontribs) 20:56, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

That's a good idea - thank you. Aftermath added and Background slightly edited. AFineClaret (talk) 15:44, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Additional citations needed edit

Under the "Acts" section, additional citations are needed for 1529, 1532, and 1534, which all lack any. Jtk2023 (talk) 17:14, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Fair... but I didn't edit those sections. ; > AFineClaret (talk) 15:24, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

New section on political/organizational history? edit

It would be useful to have a section giving a brief narrative of the political/organizational history of the parliament: When the elections were called, the exact circumstances under which the King called the Parliament (like, was he planning to do all these reforms and call the parliament to ratify or was he fishing for ideas?), when the elections were held, when and where each session was held, who was Speaker, when it was dissolved. But I don't really have a good sense of where to find this information, so I think someone else would have to do it. Lockesdonkey (talk) 15:53, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
