Dimension? edit

In the lemma: is the dimension of V equal n? So the dimension of V_i is i?

Correct, but the article should note that. —- Taku (talk) 23:31, 16 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Style edit

I think the style of this article needs to be changed from a lovely lecture note/textbook style to a more terse dispassionate (life-less???) encyclopedic style. Also, the proof (which is not really long) should be given too. —- Taku (talk) 23:31, 16 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

This is done; I hope I didn't diminish the accessibility too much. -- Taku (talk) 04:15, 17 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Naïve replacement? edit

"... the naïve replacement in Lie's theorem of "solvable" with "nilpotent", and "upper triangular" with "strictly upper triangular" ..."

Shouldn't it be the other way around? 85.167.200.57 (talk) 10:50, 29 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

It looks ok to me; Lie’s theorem is about solvable Lie algebras and the same statement is false for nilpotent Lie algebras. —- Taku (talk) 14:21, 8 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
