Empire Carpet is HUGE and is a household name in the Chicagoland area. and their jingle is known by all. they even have commercials in the spanish networks. i dont work for empire :-) Guanaco152003 00:11, 12 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

The business model of Empire Today should be mentioned in the main article. One of the most prominent features of Empire Today is that it is "middle-man" type of firm that provides television advertising in various markets and then subcontracts the work to local subcontractors. That's a pretty bold claim. I think to post something like that you'd have to have an unbia sed news source to cite. A consumer complaint site like the one you listed is going to obviously be unfairly biased and not necessarily presenting facts so much as biased opinions based on having lost complaint arbitration by the Better Business Bureau or other organizations. Is there a news citation? Roadracer123 (talk) 13:35, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Trivia tag edit

I notice the Trivia tag. It seems to suggest that Trivia lists should not be included in articles and instead such information should be included under applicable subject headings. However the tag has been placed in a subject area of the article (In Popular Culture) and is written in what appears to be proper article format (informative information in paragraph format, with appropriate citations). Does the Trivia tag really relate to this section? It seems to not be a trivia section at all. Arabel7 (talk) 21:27, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Gutters, etc. edit

Go into Google and enter "empire carpet" along with "gutter" and see what turns up. This is the first one I ran across. [1] Why they wouldn't also have it on their website, I couldn't say. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 03:52, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unless, of course, they took it from wikipedia. >:( Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 03:55, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Eventually the lightbulb comes on. I called "1-800-588-2300 EMPIRE TODAY". No, I only called the number, not the last part. "We used to but we no longer do." That was a live voice telling me that. I also told them why I was asking, so if they check it later, my cover is blown. So be it. :) Anyway, they most definitely do NOT sell those products anymore. Thanks for doing the legwork to clarify that. Great work. Arabel7 (talk) 17:37, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Empire Carpet would seem to be a terrible company to do business with, as they will not let you have a sample of the carpet that is going to be installed. You can not even pay for samples to hold. This leaves it up to the company doing the sale/install for Empire (whose name you don't know - you don't really believe they have installers that are employees across the U.S.) to be honest and install what they show you. Now maybe someone can provide a legitimate reason for not being able to have a sample of the carpet you are going to sign a contract to have installed .. but I can't think of one. Here is a possible scenario, you pick a great carpet with a face weight of 40oz, tomorrow an installer shows up with the exact same color of carpet ... in a 28oz faceweight ... you don't notice until the following day that you've been duped. Even if you catch this at install time, the installer will say ... no this is the carpet you selected. The potential for fraud is enormous.

Also why does this site look like an advertisement for Empire ... I would suggest that editor divulge their conflict of interest or be subject to loosing Wikipedia editing status altogether. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.190.196.116 (talk) 23:31, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

SNL (11/14/2009) edit

Just parodied again on tonight's SNL (w/ host January Jones, musical guest The Blackeyed Peas) during a "Jon Bovi" (the Bon Jovi backwards fans) during a Weekend Update closing number.

Proposed merge of Lynn Hauldren into Empire Today edit

Lynn Hauldren is known, basically, only for The Empire Man. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 20:35, 15 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

I think that there are two valid topic here; Empire Today (company) and Empire Man (independently notable advertising campaign and character). The Lynn Hauldren biographical information could then sit in the latter. Klbrain (talk) 08:28, 19 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
I've taken the liberty of restructuring the Lynn Hauldren page to match the proposed format (post-move). Will leave discussion for a while longer in case of objections. Klbrain (talk) 12:18, 1 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
