Empath (disambiguation)EmpathEmpath currently redirects to empathy, which makes little sense and hides the existence of Empath (disambiguation). --Relisted. Armbrust The Homunculus 12:15, 8 July 2014 (UTC)booyabazooka 05:38, 1 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose. I don't understand your reasoning of "hiding the existence" of a disambiguation page. There a hatnote is for at the top of the Empathy article, which reads "'Empath' redirects here. For other uses, see Empath (disambiguation).". This is normal standard procedure when we have a primary topic redirect like that. Other than that, you have not provided any specific reason why the topic of empathy should not be the PRIMARYTOPIC of the search term "empath". Why do you think it "makes little sense"? I support it based on the long-term significance rule of WP:PRIMARYUSAGE -- more than the other topics listed on the disambiguation page, which are more "pop culture" and less educational value: the episode of Star Trek, the comic book hero, and the playable character in the Heroes of Newerth. • Support but not per nom. This is a highly unlikely misspelling that will be linked from the disambiguation page anyway. Red Slash 07:56, 2 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
"empath" is not a misspelling of "empathy". An empath is someone with empathy, like a telepath is someone with telepathy or a psychopath is someone with psychopathy. -- JHunterJ (talk) 14:21, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. Per JHunterJ's comment, the basic definition of "empath" is a person with empathy, which should make this redirect target the primary target of the term. bd2412 T 12:50, 10 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. Empath is a commonplace redirect of to an alternate (distinct, yet closely related) word form. To move the disambiguation page suggests that there is no primary topic for the term, which I don't agree with. olderwiser 17:38, 12 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
