Roman & Gregorian dates edit

According to La Borde Il mourut à Bâle le 26 Février 1664, whereas according to Athenae Rauricae ad 4 Cal. Mart. a 1664 est sortitus. The problem with that is that the 4th of the Calends of March 1664 corresponds to the 27th of February 1664. That is because 1664 was a leap year; otherwise the 4th of the Calends of March would have been the 26th of February. So it looks like that La Borde may have made a mistake in transcribing the date from Roman to Gregorian. Does anyone out there have independent confirmation of the dates?
