@AryKun: I've done some copyediting and will go through all the criteria.

Lede

• The lede doesn't really summarize that much from the taxonomy section. Perhaps incorporate the first description or the fact that the species is monotypic in the lede. I'd say change "It is a medium-sized species [...]" to "Described by PL Sclater and Osbert Salvin in 1869, it is a medium-sized species [...]".

Done.

• Add a map caption such as "Distribution of the emerald tanager".

Done.

Breeding

• "The emerald tanager breeds from March to May in Costa Rica and from January to April in Colombia" is there an explanation for that?

Status

• The last sentence is a little to technical to normal wikipedia readers. Could simplify it and link "genetic diversity"?

I've tried simplifying, could you see if it's better?

Refs

• AGF on ref 6 (subscription based), no plagiarism detected, all refs are WP:RS, there are for some reason two different IUCN refs.

The two IUCN refs are because one is in the infobox and displays separately.

• I think it is actually vital that you follow the following point for this article to become GA. The article has to be "broad in its coverage"; there are almost 400 results of "Emerald tanager" on google scholar. I actually found a brilliant ref that I want you to get access to in WP:TWL resource exchange if you can't access it. It has a ton of info on tanagers, including the Emerald tanager, which mentions the bird vocalizations and further description of its physical characteristics. Ref variety and broadness of relevant text is important.

Added the vocalizations section from Birds of Central America, but most of the Google Scholar results are actually just papers that have the word tanager in them and are nit about the present species. The remaining refs are not very useful as they don't add any new information, as well as the fact that many of them are Spanish.

General

• Lede image and distribution map are properly licensed. Article is stable and neutral without any edit wars.
