Emanuel Galea was one the best loved Maltese Bishops. In 1969 he was awarded the Gold Medal of Merit. At that time I was the Secretary of the Award Committee (See Medal of Merit - Malta). The committee always carried out detailed study of the recipients and the task of compiling their biographies always fell to me. Therefore it is obvious that both the Zejtun Wed-page and myself used the same sources. Apart from that I used to know Mgr Galea personally and even interviewed him a number of times for my Programme on Radio. I was responsible for the Children's Programme for nearly 32 years.

Therefore I do not feel that there has been any compromise of copyright.

Even more so, I cannot feel that the Zejtun Parish will ever object that Bishop Galea be included in Wikipedia.

I have nothing to gain. I sign my contributions to follow Wikipedia's policy. In fact I would prefer that my name be hidden and be only known to you.

The problem is that both this page and the official Parish page use the exact same wording. If you did write both, let us know, and we can revert the copyright violation. However, it's probably best that the page be re-written in order to avoid the issue.
There is a copyright notice on the Parish website, [1]. This allows reproduction for educational, but not commercial, purposes. This is not compatible with Wikipedia's copyright, which requires that all contributions be permitted for any purpose.
As for signing contributions, only Talk pages are signed. The way to "sign" a talk page is not with your name and email address, but with ~~~~, which the Wiki engine translates to your "Wiki Signature", which is a link to your user page.

I shall re-write the page, probably in two days time.

Dear Mr Said,

Our text as shown in our webpage, is as published by the Pavia family members who were the closest family to the Bishop all the time he lived at Zejtun together with his brother Rev Frangisku Galea, as Mr Pavia was the driver to the Bishop for most of his time as a Bishop. Therefore we definitely expect that there are lots of merits which are not mentioned in our homepage.

As far as infringement of copyright we have no problem and give you full rights to use all or any part of the information available in our homepage.

Sirs

I am currently doing my utmost to include as many Maltese personalities as possible in the international encycopaedia WIKIPEDIA (http://www.wikiepia.org). In fact I have already contributed a number of articles.

I have started by including those that had been awarded with MIDALJA TAL-MERITU, in 1968, 1969 and 1971. Of these Bishop Emanuel Galea had been awarded the gold medal in 1969. (This award is not mentioned in your page) Apart from that, when I was presenting the "Quiz Madwar Malta" in the early sisxties, His Lordship had granted me an exclusive interview.

When I presented a short biography to Wikipedia, the organisation felt that there could be an infringement of copyright between what I had written and the article as available in your web-page.

I feel that both of us have the same scope, that is to show the world the saintly person of the late Bishop Galea. Before Wikipedia accepts my article, they would like to know that you find no objection on this.

Kindly confirm to me (possible with a copy to Wikipedia) that you approve that the biography of Bishop Galea would be available to the world on Wikipedia.

In case of difficulty, you are free to contact me

FRANS H SAID

I presume that the article can now be reinstalled
