Full Name edit

Full name is Bertha Hildegard Elly Rometsch, see article German Wikipedia article — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:8C:4C6C:7200:18F2:DEFA:CBB6:6B72 (talk) 23:01, 28 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

I added this with citation to wert.de, and it is also her full name in the FBI documents. Her maiden name is Fimmel and her married name was/is Rometsch. According to wert.de, she has remarried; however, I don't think they noted whether or not she has a new married name. -Location (talk) 17:33, 21 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Details. edit

R. was not born in East Germany. She is an ethnic German born 1936 in Silesia which is Poland since 1945 but was part of the German Empire (Mitteldeutschland" i.e. middle Germany) in 1936. The family fled from Polish oppression of ethnic Germans to the German Democratic Republic i.e. East Germany, and after some years of communist oppression there, to the Federal Republic of Germany i.e. West Germany. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:C0:DF28:100:7042:F753:1034:F9ED (talk) 02:27, 15 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

I agree. The article originally stated that she was born in Kleinitz, Germany, but it was changed 09:12, 4 February 2020 to state she was born in Kleinitz, Poland. I just changed it back. Various sources state that Kleinitz became part of East Germany after World War II, but that is not true. - Location (talk) 15:01, 21 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
