Ella never relased "They Can't Take That Away from Me" as a single, it is on several albums, however. Gareth E Kegg (talk) 21:06, 19 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

There is a best album of 1947 listed on the besteveralbum website and this is not mentioned here. Is there a reason? I am not an expert but someone? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gmarthews (talkcontribs) 05:40, 21 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Though some years ago: This is kind of a compilation album (sources give 1947/1949/1950 as release dates), obviously with some of her songs of the 1930s. That‘s why I think it‘s not really relevant. But shouldn’t the box The Pablo Years all albums of her Pablo time were published on be included in “Boxes“? All the best from Germany --5lkdl (talk) 20:09, 4 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

"My Heart Belongs to Daddy" edit

  • What is the title of this song in which she sings this line?
  • When did she first sing it?

It must have been between 1930 and 1959.

1st:

(Just "one" year after the original musical.)
She is born in April 25, 1917.
So she then was almost 22.
Decca Records, 78 rpm.
Ella Fitzgerald - My Heart Belongs To Daddy.
This is sung in a good, cute mood.

The original lyrics from Cole Porter are slightly altered on a few locations.

I would like to mention that she sang the word "duty" with-out a "y" between the "d" and the "u".

2nd:
From 1954, (age: approximately 37)
as part of the studio album "Songs in a Mellow Mood".
This is sung: very slow and in a jazzy style.
