Her name is usually spelled Tylney, not Tilney and where is the Countess of Surrey coming from? Was she given that title officially? -- Lady Meg (talk) 04:11, 11 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Tilney is the spelling usually given in biographies of Anne Boleyn, and is also the spelling used in the full-length image of her in the stained glass window. Where in the article does it say that she held the title Countess of Surrey suo jure? She was styled Countess of Surrey by dint of having been the wife of Thomas Howard, Earl of Surrey, whom would later succeed as the 2nd Duke of Norfolk, but this was after Elizabeth's death.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 07:37, 11 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
To avoid future misunderstanding, I have since pipelinked Earl of Surrey to Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk. This way the lead shows how she came about her title of countess.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 12:27, 11 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Probably should change the last name to reflect she was the wife of the Earl of Surrey, not suo jure. Wouldn’t “Lady Elizabeth Howard, Countess of Surrey” by the best way to identify her? Lady Meg (talk) 03:19, 18 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
