Suspected Vandalism / Confusion of identity? edit

This page has come under repeated vandalism from two anonymous accounts, likely the same person. The vandalism extends to other pages, where Grosz's contributions and citations have been removed. Sometimes it is disguised alongside other legitimate revisions. I don't know how to flag or warn the user, but please be aware. I would appreciate help from an Admin or more experienced Wikipedian on this. Jazzcowboy (talk) 15:06, 4 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

It seems there might be legitimate confusion here, although there is a clear history of vandalism on this page. I am hopeful that the anonymous editor will clear things up here. If this is a case of two people with the same or similar names being conflated, it would be very useful for the real Elizabeth Grosz (the one this article is about) to state whether some of the books attributed to her are by someone else, and what other details from the erroneous sourcing are false. Are you indeed Australian, American, Hungarian, all or none of the above? Were the books and thesis published under "Elizabeth A. Gross" actually by you? (If not, why does the National Library of Australia list them as the same author? Why did you delete yourself as editor of Sexy Bodies on the page of Elspeth Probyn? Why have you in the past deleted the specifics of Grosz's Women's Studies appointments at Duke and Rutgers? Any clarity you can bring would be highly enlightening...I'm just trying in good faith to make this page highlight the notability and import of Dr. Grosz's work. On further research, I am highly skeptical of this person claiming to be Elizabeth Grosz, in part because of the obvious frivolity of the claim not to have been born Elizabeth Anne Gross. Several of Grosz's books have been dedicated to her parents, Imre and Eva Gross. There is also a history of vandalism on this page, including blanking it out entirely as well as various efforts to delete honors and titles held by the subject. I beg the anonymous editor to convince me that this is more than an exceedingly elaborate (and possibly ten years running) effort at vandalism. Jazzcowboy (talk) 17:13, 6 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Just noting some ongoing concerns about some unsourced changes made to the entry in a pattern similar to the previous ones. Larry Hockett (Talk) 06:09, 1 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
