I live in Elie and holiday in France. I can safely say these crossaints aren't worthy of special praise. Is the author the owner of this deli?

The sentences discussing the Israelite name Elie don't belong in this article so I've removed them. (That's not to say that they're without merit; I'm unqualified to comment. If an article or section of an article is worthwhile, a disambiguation page would appear to be the way to go.)
It's not clear what benefit a mention of a single business with disputed merits brings to an encyclopedia, so I've removed the mention of Elie Deli for the sake of having a clean article.
I'm still unconvinced that this article really needs to exist on its own; given the intertwined nature of the two villages, a combined Elie and Earlsferry article seems to me to be a better solution.

Um, there are other people named Elie. Such as the one from Groove Adventure Rave.
