Did Amelia Earhart fly the Electra on her world trip????

Jean Giraudoux has a play about/called Electra. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.196.60.42 (talk) 00:44, August 29, 2007 (UTC)

Parents? edit

According to Family tree of the Greek_gods, her praents were Atlas and Pleione. Does this refer to another Electra, the Pleiad? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jftsang (talkcontribs) 16:43, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Firejuggler86 (talk) 18:50, 30 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Mother of Iris edit

This article states that Electra was the mother of Iris, but Iris's mother was a sea nymph named Electra, not this Electra, who was a mortal princess.Lily20 (talk) 20:25, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Lily20 is correct that there is an "Electra" that was the mother of Iris. There are at least four characters from mythology named Electra (see Bergen Evans). This article is about Electra, daughter of Agamemnon, who is the most well-known "Electra." --GoldCoastPrior (talk) 15:51, 29 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Etymology of the name edit

Does anyone know it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.9.179.119 (talk) 17:46, 15 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I think it is something to do with sunlight - the 'el' is from Helios. Firejuggler86 (talk) 18:51, 30 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Over-The-Top Editing edit

  Resolved

It is ***ABSOLUTE NONSENSE*** to claim that it's necessary to give a citation for the well-established fact that Electra was considered to be the daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra.

You editors *seriously* need to take a chill pill, you *really* do.

While it's true that the opening paragraph shouldn't have a cn tag since all the information is non-controversial, the refimprove tag for the article as a whole is completely appropriate. There's only one reference given for an article of moderate length. More sources are very much needed. Also, you should probably give WP:CIVIL a read. -- Fyrefly (talk) 21:48, 11 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
