Posthumous renown

edit

The comments at the end of this section are not neutral, but if there is no link between L. Ron Hubbard and Elbert Hubbard the article should remove all reference to Scientology/L. Ron Hubbard. Does anyone have verifiable information concerning this? The references provided are not adequate. --Trekie8472 (talk) 22:55, 22 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • The references provided are not adequate is putting it pretty mildly. It's just an Amazon listing. The book exists, fine, but without an actual reference establishing what is claimed in the article, this information should of course be removed. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:45, 11 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hubbard was credited with publishing a work of great quotes by U.S. citizens (nearly half of them his own) called An American Bible. Source: [1].192.127.94.7 (talk) 17:36, 21 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Quotes

edit

It would be great to list some quotes in this article, there seem to be a wealth of them available:
If you can't answer a man's argument, all is not lost; you can still call him vile names.
One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men. No machine can do the work of one extraordinary man.
A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same.
A man is as good as he has to be, and a woman as bad as she dares.
Never explain - your friends do not need it and your enemies will not believe you anyway.
We are not punished for our sins, but by them.

All great sayings, but that's what WikiQuote is for. :) María (yllosubmarine) 18:28, 20 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Conviction and Pardon

edit

This section needs re-writing to remove fluff ("one not-so-slight problem", "Hubbard, being who he was, decided", etc.). The rest of the article has a good professional tone and little fluff, it's just this section that needs improving. billie_usagi (talk) 20:09, 11 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Roycroft Dictionary

We don't mention "The Roycroft Dictionary Concocted by Ali Baba and the Bunch on Rainy Days", published in 1914. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 18:03, 8 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
