Dates Not Adding Up

edit

The various dates given throughout the article don't seem to equate.

For example the Late Preceramic (and this needs a link, and article on Andean Late Preceramic by the way) is defined as 2500-1800 BC.

But the site is in several locations in the article said to date to 3790 cal BP to 3,065 cal BP -- which should equal 1840-1115 BC.

And then we have: The oldest dates come from Unit 4, with calibrated dates coming from wood charcoal as late as 2540 B.C. -- the dates conflict, and it seems that should be "as early as 2540 B.C." as well.

The actual dates of the site should be determined -- taking into consideration what may be new findings pushing the dating back farther:

But note that the author of that article may be getting info from our current confusing Wikipedia article, in a vicious circle. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.180.26.164 (talk) 05:56, 13 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I was beginning to clean this pages up and slotting it into various other pages as it appeared few links lead here, which I thought odd for such a significant site. I had visited the page years ago and was puzzled at the lack of talk or input beyond the original author, I agree with the new news an overhaul is required, it would be great if the page could get a brush through it from the current involved elements in Peru's ministry of culture or head archaeologist given the funding now allocated. I'll sort some basics and spruce, anyone else want to help clean house? MacFodder (talk) 11:12, 20 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I cleaned up some formatting problems. The text was too jumbled together, so I improved the readability.

Also, a link was pointing to 'preceramic' site of Casas Grandes, Mexico. Wrong 'Casas Grandes'; actually what was meant was Casa Grande, Peru, which is currently just a stub article. Eio-cos (talk) 04:12, 29 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
