I attended ECHS for my junior year, 1968-69. Recently I was very suprised by an aerial photograph found on Mapquest showing the entire (!) campus area had been leveled. I have found little on the web concerning this rather major event. I have made brief mention of this event in the article and I would appreciate it if any one else would "fill in the blanks", so to speak. I enjoyed my year there and I had lost touch with things. The reconstruction began in 2005, partially for earthquake safety reasons I believe. I graduated that year, so I don't know many of the details, but I think it won't be completed until at least 2010.

Thanks. From what I've been able to find on the web, there were concerns mostly about the general run-down condition of the place. What I remember (nearly 40 years ago) were the hodge-podge of out buildings. I had history "here", english over "there", gym and then back to chemistry "there", etc. I did alot of walking! can somebody get us pics of both the old building before its demolishment, and that of the new one?

Try this link, *Site devoted to history and future of the school. It might be down, I just looked. Anyway, it had a nice aerial view of the campus from around 1971 (I still remember most of those buildings after 40 years) and some nice architectual drawings of the proposed rebuild.--Phyllis1753 (talk) 19:33, 21 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes it is 15 years later but check out the archive page, there are hundreds of photos here. https://www.wccusd.net/domain/2921 Notnotmysql (talk) 21:21, 5 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

That link no longer exists.--Phyllis1753 (talk) 18:49, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Suggest www.classmates.com: the ECHS photo albums page, there are a few pix of the demolition there.--j.blomberg, class of 1963. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.133.32.101 (talk) 14:11, 29 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I just copy-edited this article, and the "Overview" section needs more dates and more people involved with the demolition. Who initiated the new building construction? What led to the influx in students that forced the school to build? A better time line would help people wrap their heads around the brief history offered here. If a person doesn't have a wikipedia page, should they really be considered notable? Especially the three professors listed under academia who do not have wikipedia pages. I'm sure there are hundreds of professors who are living graduates of this school - what makes these particular professors notable? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.247.44.174 (talk) 20:10, 25 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

He's from El Cerrito, but I can't be certain he attended ECHS. Anyone else? Thmazing (talk) 07:25, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'll try to remember to take a photo next time I'm down there.
