Missing Images? edit

I was reading this page today, and there are a number of paragraphs that seem to referrence images that aren't there? Such as this: "This egg case, shown on the measuring strip depicting centimeter measurements" - with no image shown or linked to. Is this a mistake? Should there be images posted, or references to images removed? I'm not wicked familiar with this species (obv why I'm checking Wikipedia!), nor with this page, so I truly hope someone who is can address this! Thanks! Identification guide edit

Does anyone know of an identification guide for different kinds of mermaid's purses you find on the beach? It would be nice to include some of that info here, so people who find them can investigate. Asbruckman 02:05, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

gestation versus incubation edit

If you follow the gestation link, it would suggest that it is an inapplicable term as eggs incubate and gestation is reserved for vivaparity, or live-birth. Ought this be labeled "incubate"? KrisKowal (talk) 08:20, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Is this a Murmaid's Purse? edit

I found this on a beach in the UK, anyone know if it's a purse and possibly what to? Ryan4314 (talk) 06:16, 12 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it is a mermaid's purse. I hope an expert can ID it for you. See 'Identification guide' above. GrahamBould (talk) 07:24, 12 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Potentially Useful Resource edit

Hello, I found a potentially useful resource for this page. Below is a citation for an article that outlines the morphological differences between egg cases of different chondrichthyan species. The article also contains clear diagrams of varying types of egg cases, making it easy for a reader to compare structural differences discussed within this page. Please let me know if this may be helpful on this page, or perhaps for another page on Wikipedia.

Thank you!
