Requested move

Egg plc → Egg (bank) … Rationale: Egg are now fully-owned by Prudential plc, and as such have been delisted. Therefore, a new name for the page is warranted. I propose Egg (bank), but I'm open to suggestions! Robwingfield 08:54, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Egg-logo.gif

Use of EMEA in the article

EMEA is used in the article, expanded as 'Europe, Middle East and Asia', is this right? Normally EMEA is used to mean 'Europe, Middle East and Africa'. BigTurnip (talk) 02:04, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Are we getting a bit informal?

In the sentence here: "In the first quarter of 2008 Ian Kerr left his position as CEO, to be replaced by Bert Pijls. Egg is managed under the blanket of Citi EMEA. Which essentially means that Bert controls all Citi operations within Europe, the Middle East and Asia when formulating strategy." Using 'Bert' seems a little too informal, presuming it is his first name. Any thoughts? (Gaccha (talk) 14:44, 31 October 2008 (UTC))

The most recent edit seems to have, rather luckily for Egg, removed any adverse facts as to their most recent history. I note that the entire 2008 history has evaporated. All of this was erased: "On 2 February 2008, Egg decided to cancel the credit cards of 161,000 (7%) of its customers. The bank has given customers 35 days' notice, after which they will not be able to spend more on their cards. While publicised as an attempt to purge "risky" customers from their books, many affected customers have come forward with claims that they had excellent credit histories. This has led to speculation that the move was an attempt to remove customers who do not accumulate interest on their accounts and therefore do not generate profit for the bank."

I would be interested to understand the rationale of such a broad edit. It almost halfs the history. Some might say 'whitewashes'. (Gaccha (talk) 16:56, 7 December 2008 (UTC))
