Hi, GeorgeC. I will [finally] be reviewing this. TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk) 03:00, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • "The storm moved westward, crossed through the Leeward Islands and entered the Caribbean Sea on August 22." - Comma after Islands.
  • "Isaac initially struggled to intensify and defied predictions of it strengthening into a hurricane." - Add "prior to making landfall in [XXXX]." at the end of this sentence.
  • Eh, your next comment sorta cancels this out, since this kinda implies that you want me to at least partially merge this sentence with those--12george1 (talk) 03:45, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "On August 25, the storm made landfall in Haiti and another in Cuba later that day." --> "The storm made its first landfall in Haiti as a midgrade tropical storm prior to making a second one in Cuba later that day."
  • "Initially, the storm threatened to strike Tampa Bay Area during the 2012 Republican National Convention and move ashore in the Florida Panhandle as a major hurricane." - The storm was never forecast to become a major hurricane.
  • "Isaac steadily weakened inland and eventually dissipated over Missouri on September 1." - Change "Isaac" to "the storm".
  • "Damage in Palm Beach County alone was almost $71.6 million (2012 USD)." - Was almost --> totaled to nearly.
  • "As a result, convection associated with the system organized and intensified, and the tropical wave quickly strengthened into a tropical depression." - A well-defined center (previous sentence) does not guarantee the growth and organization of convection. {{See also|2011 Atlantic hurricane season#Tropical Storm Jose}}.
  • I'm just gonna remove "As a result", that way the sentence no longer implies that the well-defined circulation was not correlated with growth and organization of convection.--12george1 (talk) 03:45, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "Quickly accelerating westward due to a subtropical ridge, Isaac later moved past the Lesser Antilles between Guadeloupe and Dominica by August 23, where it caused numerous mudslides and power outages." - Where is the subtropical ridge in relation to the storm?
  • TCR says "A strong deep-layer subtropical ridge over the western Atlantic caused...". Does that mean like northwest of the storm or does it not really matter since the NHC wasn't specific?--12george1 (talk) 03:45, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "Maintaining tropical storm intensity, Isaac later made its first landfall on the southern coast of Haiti early on August 25 as a result of curving around the ridge of high-pressure." - change "as a result of curving around the ridge of high pressure" to "as a result of southeast flow".
  • "There the storm directly killed 24 people, worsening conditions still remaining after the 2010 Haiti earthquake." - Comma after there.
  • "Isaac later began to curve westwards due to wind patterns which brought it between two opposingly rotating cyclonic systems" - Westwards isn't a word. Neither is opposingly. Rotating and cyclonic are repetitive to one another.
  • "Early on the next day, the tropical storm watch was upgraded to a warning, while the Florida Keys and the mainland from Ocean Reef to Bonita Springs was now under a hurricane watch." - Was now --> were placed
  • " According to the Republican National Convention spokesman James Davis, officials have been coordinating with the United States Secret Service, should the 50,000 politicians, delegates, and reporters require evacuation." - have --> had
  • "At the same time, Governor of Florida Rick Scott announced he will not be attending the convention, together with Governor of Alabama Robert J. Bentley." - will not --> would not
Fixed--12george1 (talk) 03:45, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "Other areas such as Broward, Indian River, Martin, Miami-Dade, St. Lucie Counties" - Comma after "areas" and "and" after "Miami-Dade,".
  • "Though winds caused little damage, around 113,000 customers were left without electricity in South Florida, alone." - No comma after Florida.
  • "Other significant precipitation totals include 10.86 inches (276 mm) in Miramar, 10.41 inches (264 mm) in Coral Springs, 9.91 inches (252 mm) at a location just north of Coral Springs, 9.63 inches (245 mm) near Tamarac, 8.94 inches (227 mm) in Fort Lauderdale, 8.52 inches (216 mm) near Oakland Park, 8.64 inches (219 mm) near Sunrise, 8.44 inches (214 mm) near Lauderhill, 8.29 inches (211 mm) in Sunrise, 8.09 inches (205 mm) in Davie, 8.03 inches (204 mm) in Plantation, 7.85 inches (199 mm) near Hollywood, 7.68 inches (195 mm) at another location in Fort Lauderdale, 7.23 inches (184 mm) near Davie, and 7.05 inches (179 mm) in Southwest Ranches." - My god. Just say other totals ranged from 7 to 10 inches.
  • Well, since you said "7 to 10 inches", I am gonna leave the first two but ditch the rest of them.--12george1 (talk) 03:45, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "Additionally, winds in the area blew significant amounts of sand away, exposing rocks and created 8–10 feet (2.4–3.0 m) drops." - Created --> creating.
  • "Other areas with rainfall exceeding 10 inches (250 mm) included 13.754 inches (349.4 mm) in Boynton Beach, 13.1 inches (330 mm) in Greenacres, 12.55 inches (319 mm) in Wellington, 12.24 inches (311 mm) at the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, 12.29 inches (312 mm) in The Acreage, 11.98 inches (304 mm) at another location in Boynton Beach, 11.52 inches (293 mm) in Aberdeen, 11.15 inches (283 mm) in West Palm Beach at the Riverwalk community, 10.64 inches (270 mm) in Lantana, and 10.36 inches (263 mm) in West Boca Raton.[20][1]" - Same as two sentences above.
  • But these totals are larger and cover a wider area than the ones in Broward County.--12george1 (talk) 03:45, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "Several major and minor roads were inundated by water in Wellington, including Greenbriar Boulevard between Greenview Shores Boulevard and Ousley Farms Road, South Shore Boulevard between State Road 802 and 50th Street, Pierson Road between South Shore Boulevard and 120th Street, and Greenview Shores Boulevard between Goldenrod Road and Meadow Avenue." - Just state many roads were flooded.
  • "The storm also produced heavy rainfall in Indian River County, with 16.5 in (420 mm) reported in Vero Beach. Other precipitation totals include 13.54 inches (344 mm) west of Florida Ridge, 9.59 inches (244 mm) in Vero Beach Highlands, 9.54 inches (242 mm) and 8.11 inches (206 mm) in Vero Beach South, and 7.57 inches (192 mm) at another location in Vero Beach." - Same as previous two.
  • "Although it passed further west and was weaker than anticipated,[15] the outerbands and fringe of the storm produced light rainfall and two tornadoes in the Florida Panhandle." - it --> they
  • I'm referring to the storm itself, not the outerbands.--12george1 (talk) 03:45, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • "Following the storm, Governor of Florida Rick Scott attended a briefing at the South Florida Water Management District, before boarding a helicopter to tour flooded areas of Palm Beach County." - No comma after District.
  • "A Florida state fund known as Neighbors to the Rescue – with the purpose of distributing money to help recovery efforts for victims of Isaac – was activated by the governor." - Italicize the state fund name.
  • "The area already qualified for small business loans due to a state of emergency and after the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reviews damage assessments, President of the United States Barack Obama considered a disaster declaration." - reviews --> reviewed

That should be it. TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk) 03:00, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

I don't have any chocolate for you, GeorgeC. I guess I'll pass the article instead. Thanks for addressing the issues quickly. :) TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk) 19:02, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
