seems to use weasle words, i.e "to this great governor Alsace Lorraine kept the souvenir of very human, very cultivated man, of a conciliating mood and of a great liberality often abused by some notables"

Concur...but in its defense I'd say it looks like an automated translation of some sort, taken off a European writing. Not really weasley; just inaccurate... I am also wondering if he is related to Hasso von Manteuffel of WW2 fame?? If so it needs to be noted. Engr105th (talk) 00:13, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

It is mostly the text of the 1911 Britannica entry. Some material has apparently been added from a reference on Alsace Lorraine. It is adorned with a picture of a document in his handwriting and with his signature. It needs structure and supporting material and maybe could be expanded. One talker notes it has some inaccuracies apparently stemming from a poor translation. Bob Burkhardt (talk) 18:17, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
