It is "Polis", not "Poleis". If you are getting your information from the internet, you are doing it wrong. Get information, therefore knowledge, eventually wisdom from books. THEN write your wiki article; but not before. 76.90.233.118 (talk) 23:44, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
- Poleis is correctly used as the plural of polis. This article uses it twice, correctly; in the first case, it could be replaced with "polis" with no change in meaning, but in the second case, a change to "polis" would introduce an error. Wareh (talk) 17:52, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
I agree totally with this: poleis is the correct word in order not to cause mistakes with te singulier form.
On the other hand, I have to correct the meaning of paedagogus which is not a teacher, but an slave who used to go along with the boy to the school. Hello Wiki Editors,
I am working on editing the Athenian System section of this article. My focus will be on Classical Athens, however, there are time periods within "Ancient" Athens that are not included in this article. I am not well versed in such periods, and would love the help of individuals who are. This will help create a much more robust article.

The "Spartan system" section below doesn't make any sense. It disputes the claim that the Spartans killed weak children; then goes on to describe how they did so.
